Evidence is increasing and is now stronger than before that tackling the many risk factors for dementia will reduce your risk for dementia.
Less education, or lack of continued learning
Untreated hearing loss,
Hypertension
Smoking tobacco or cannabis
Obesity
Depression
Physical inactivity (sitting for more than 9 hour per day)
Diabetes
Alcohol consumption
Traumatic brain injury [TBI],
Air pollution
Social isolation
Untreated vision loss
High LDL cholesterol (especially if inflammation is also present)
Excess Omega 6 refined vegetable/seed oils - Inflammatory. Avoid fried foods and especially avoid deep fried foods at Fast food restaurants.
Excess Beef or pork consumption are inflammatory
Deficiency of Omega 3 oils, they are beneficial and anti-inflammatory.
Lack of consumption of Green vegetable - anti-inflammatory
Lack of consumption berries - anti-inflammatory
Lack of consumption Nuts - anti-inflammatory
Vit D deficiency
Vitamin B12 deficiency
Highly refined packaged foods and sweets
Poor quality sleep
Some prescription and non-prescriptions medications
Toxins such as Lead, Mercury, Plastics, Molds, pesticide, Cleaning products etc.
Chronic infection (herpes, Lyme, gingivitis etc .
Chronic Anxiety and stress
